Privacy Policy

This policy describes information collected during a visit to this private Licking County court-reference resource, how that information is used, and the limited circumstances in which it may be shared. By using the site, a visitor accepts the practices stated here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or case number entered into a site search tool is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies any result. This site does not retain or log the search terms entered through those tools.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to the site may be retained to allow a response. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the site’s servers may receive technical information about the visit, including:

  • the IP address assigned to the device
  • the browser and its version
  • the device type and operating system
  • pages viewed and the time spent on each page
  • the referring site, when one is available
  • timestamps associated with page views

Cookies and Analytics

This site uses cookies, which are small files placed on a device. They help measure aggregate use, including which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics services may assist with those measurements. Browser settings can block cookies, although some site features may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • operating the site and improving page performance
  • sending a search query to the provider selected for that tool
  • reviewing aggregate page use and performance
  • identifying and resolving technical problems
  • displaying advertising that may be based on interests

No Court-Record Data on File

This site does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of Licking County court dockets or personal case records. It provides general routing information for the Licking County Common Pleas Clerk of Courts, Municipal Clerk, Probate-Juvenile Court, and local Mayor’s Courts. Ohio has no universal public trial-court case search. The access rules for modern case documents are Ohio Sup.R. 44–47, while R.C. 149.43 concerns applicable administrative public records. The site is not a consumer reporting agency, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party record files.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes on this site. Information entered there is subject to the provider’s own privacy policy rather than this one. Each provider controls its own retention and sharing practices, which this site does not manage. Review the provider’s policy before submitting a query.

Links to Other Websites

The site links to clerk pages, court portals, Ohio judicial resources, and third-party search tools. A link opens a separate site, whose privacy policy then governs the visit. Review that policy before providing personal details.

Some advertising partners may track activity across websites for targeted advertising. That tracking occurs through their systems, not this site’s systems.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:

  • search providers that process queries entered through site tools
  • analytics services used for traffic and performance measurements
  • advertising networks that serve advertisements on the site
  • law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure

How We Protect Your Data

Standard security measures are used to protect collected data. No internet-connected service is fully secure, however, and this site cannot guarantee that a security incident will never occur.

Users Under 18

This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such information is believed to have been submitted, it will be deleted when identified.

Your Data Rights

Applicable law may provide additional rights concerning personal information. These policy terms do not alter the court-record access rules for Licking County. For case documents begun after July 1, 2009, Ohio uses Sup.R. 44–47; Ohio’s Public Records Act, R.C. 149.43, applies to applicable administrative records. At a minimum, you may:

  • request a copy of data held about you
  • ask for correction of inaccurate data
  • request deletion of data
  • opt out of certain data-processing activities

Updates to This Policy

This privacy policy may be revised. A revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
